Brand New Horror Mag Will Pay for Stories
Who: Horror Fiction Magazine
What: Horror stories.
How: They’re brand, spanking new. Information is thin on the ground.
In addition to fiction, they’re looking for poems in the horror genre of any length, and they’re looking for artwork. “Please email with a query before submitting artwork.”
“We do accept simultaneous submissions, but please let us know as soon as possible if your submission is accepted elsewhere. We only purchase first publication rights.” Perfectly reasonable.
How long: Please send anything up to 10,000 words.
How much: We pay 3 cents per word upon acceptance.
Is there a catch? They’re just starting, so there’s only a catch if they fold before paying you… but get in early and you improve your chances. And three cents per word is still three cents per word. It’s respectable, if not considered professional level.
Where: The easiest way to submit is by sending an email to randyray at gmail dot com.
And if you miss handing envelopes to your postman/woman, send your submission or questions to:
Horror Fiction Magazine
205 North Ballard
Wylie, TX 75098
Or you can even phone:
972-442-9393
An actual phone number. I was starting to think the things didn’t actually exist, anymore.
