header1.jpgWho: Wrong World
What: You’ll see. Keep reading.

How, and Other Fun Stuff Like That: Their website has the single longest guidelines in the tiniest box you’ve ever seen.

They’re just starting to accept material again, which is good, but you’re going to have to highlight their terms and copy them into something you can use to read them without a magnifying glass.

Why do some companies make things so hard?

They want scary stories. “Original, scary short stories — science fiction, horror, fantasy, suspense, thriller, paranormal, supernatural, any genre as long as the story is on some level scary.

How Long: Stories that are 2,500-3,500 words in length. “The WRONG WORLD® “experience” should last around twenty-five minutes.”

How much: It’s complicated. Open-call stories are compensated at the rate of 7.5 cents per word. That’s why I’m listing them here.

Is there a catch? It’s complicated. The entire thing seems very, very complicated.

Where:Oh, grief. Here is just an excerpt from what they say:
“Submissions are completed on the WRONG WORLD® website.

“Register as a writer first. You can do this from the link on this page, or from the home page in the Writer Zone. The registration under the shopping cart is for Customers and only requires your first name. This will not register you as a writer. Your writer registration registers you as a Customer and also subcribes you to our DVD update news. Next, logon on the story submissions page, acknowledge that you have read our guidelines and terms and click submit. This is not a contract; it is only an acknowledgment that you have read our terms.”

Etc., etc., etc. Just go look at the site, but bring your patience with you.
